    Why...

307! I've been thinking them. I'd have got a 206, but I don't think it will be very cool if two people have the same car..

I'm not sure if I get very much of that comment to be honest..

I'd have chosen a 206, had a family member not already had one in the same household.

Just go on autotrader for a used 206, maybe drop 10-15 mpg from the combined total. It's what i was told to do

If you're worried about fuel by a 1.6 not a 2.0. But they are heavy cars due to the roof mechanisms etc so not great on fuel

Just had a look on AT, and it's 56mpg combined new with 2.0 diesel. So reasonably your talking 40-45 possibly. Depends how the car was driven too though.

Im looking for a 1.6, im only 20 so my insurance would be sky high for a 2.0 otherwise id love one!

I've been pricing cars up, Citroen C3's are the cheapest cars for me to insure. best MPG too. I've never driven before, and im a 23 male. So im guessing your insurance will be either cheaper, or on par with me. Never know with insurance companies these days.

My girlfriend has a 1.6 diesel and even though she drives everywhere in 2nd gear she still manages about 45mpg out of it.

Problem with Citroen C3's is they are ugly as f***

Damn right on the insurance though, its cheaper for me on a 1.6 diesel currently rather than a 1.25 oO

Same currently have a 306 HDI 2.0 get about 70 miles out of £10 on combined miles.
Though the engines great the rest of the parts are crap. Won't touch a french car again, spends most of it's life wearing tyres also. 206's are known crap cars worse then a 306/07 or 207 etc, 1.6 hdi is good on fuel, but built out of paper and cheese.

Currently looking at the good old honda civic. Did an oil change on a N-reg one last month and it looked like new inside the engine. (regularly changed)

It's the inside that counts haha.

Your right about looks, weird how all cars look better in black

I have had a 306 and 309 in the past. Both solid and never a single issue with the 306.
Maybe you got a bad one or I got a great one!

Still driving a mark 1 Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi - had it since new only 106k miles.

Corners like glue even though it is manual steering.

    A joy to drive.

I had the 206cc 1.6 (petrol) 2 years ago, in black with the red leather interior, its clumsy, its heavy and I wouldnt have a car that small again. Fuelwise its not great, but if you like it go for it. Its also a pretty old body style now so not sure what your resell value would be when it inevitably breaks, mine broke big time, luckily the saleman *likes* me and made a ridiculous offer on it sight unseen, or I would have gotten pennies.

Brighter note being the boot space is great since its got to hold that roof and all the mechanisms for it, I could get a full size suitcase and 2 small ones as well as a fair lot of other stuff in it as well as get the roof down in mine.

I now have a bigger newer convertible, suits my needs more, still eats the petrol due to its weight, I really should look in to getting a grown up car.

The 205 GTi was a gem, I remember back in the day when me and my mates all craved the Rallye and 1.9 GTi, Sadly getting insured on one made it impossible. It didn't matter if bits of plastic snapped off the interior, cos they went like s**t of a shovel.

Cant remember a peugeot ive seen since probably one of the old 106 gti's that ive liked, sadly in recent years they seem to aim their cars at people who just want to get from A to B, rather than people who actually enjoy driving.
