    Anyone got bt infinity?

Getting bt infinity soon and was wondering what peoples views are? I'm particularly interested in the pings as i'm a big online gamer. I've tried to look for info but not finding much, cheers.

It's VDSL but it's not asynchronous I don't think, anyways it should be similar to cable.

had it for about 2 months, 40 mb download and 10 mbs upload on the ethernet wire. Good service for me its good.

40MB download. Oh man. I get 5MB at most. I can only imagine how fast 40meg must be! I have just been on the BT site but alas, no Infinity in our area yet. Has it rolled out to many places in the UK yet?

i think i got lucky as i live in NI and we're usually the last to get stuff but NI investment of some sort put up 50million for the rollout so even rural areas are getting it here. i wouldnt even have known it was in my area only saw bt infinity on tv and thought i'd check.

its 19.99 for option 1, 40 gig cap and 2mb upload

    24.99 for option 2, 10mb upload, 300gig FUP

I recommend using as much Ethernet wired connections as possible, a 54g router can't be 54mbit outside of lab conditions, 10-20mbit is more realistic but also unlikely across the average usage which is more like 5-10mbit.

To see if/when you are getting FTTC/P:

    That's worse than dialup
either something is very broken you could easily call Orange and quote the sales of goods act saying the service is not fit for purpose or something IS downloading alot.

I live in Norwich. To download an album it takes 40 minutes. A movie 2 hours.
