Anyone had dealings with SBS insurance services?

As above, have dropped my laptop and knackered the screen and it wont charge anymore.

Have called my insurance company who are passing the claim to SBS just wondered what the likely outcome will be, will they repair or replace? It's an 18 month old Dell XPS M1530 and just worried if they replace it will be an inferior machine.

Rep for any feedback for SBS

The payout terms should be in the policy document that you received when you purchased the insurance. It might be new for old or they may payout a cash amount on the market value of item you are claiming for. Either way make sure you read your policy details to ensure you get the best possible outcome.

It's definately a new for old policy just don't want a new Acer in place of my old Dell... What are the chances they'll replace I reckon it needs a new screen, case and motherboard...

It really depends on the policy wording. If its cheaper to repair then they will repair it, if its beyond economical repair then they will replace old for new. that should mean that you get a replacement similar to but not less than the specifications that you already have and from a manufacturer of similar quality. What you can do is ask about this and request that its a Dell replacement.
