Anyone have an NUS Extra card?

Found 3rd Oct 2010
As title, how long did it take to be delivered?
Found a nice coat in Topman and can get 20% off at the moment with an NUS Extra card, but offer is only valid for another week or so, and not sure that the card will come in time
If I could 'borrow' just the code, it'd also be greatly appreciated

Thanks

With Topman, I'm pretty sure you can just put in random numbers and it works. I think it's got to be 18 digits. Give it a go.
Why is everyone entitled to an NUS card... but no one has one?

Advice. Dont buy something without trying it on.
just fill it with zeros on the website. if it doesnt fit, return it instore.

sorted.
None of the above seem to work unfortunately!
go instore and just show your student id, there is 20% off instore too

Don't even think I have any student ID, little lanyard things with our names and photos are being made but no clue when we'll be getting them
If you go online to the NUS website you will see that most school and college 6th form students are eligible to apply for an NUS card and it says that the card should arrive within 7 days.
Anyone got one?
Would be greatly appreciated!

I have just re-applied for mine. I've had one two years in a row. They typically take 3 - 5 working days to arrive at your place of study. The first time you apply, they are delivered to your place of study in order for them to prove that you are indeed a student, thus they don't deliver to your home address.

After the first year they allow you to re-order and have it despatched to your home address which is much better. Mine is being delivered to the university this time, because I finished a two year course at a college, but I have now started a university, thus I have to prove I'm a valid student enrolled at a new establishment. Next year they will just post it to my home address.

I would go to your student admins office to see if it has arrived yet. They are normally pretty quick.

Hope that helps.

You are best off following the link I gave you above and applying and paying for the card yourself. You get other benefits like 5% off books and some other items at Amazon, and money off at play.com to name a few. If you want the discount I suggest you get a card as I doubt anyone will give you their number as a lot of the discounts get linked to the account after first use so you would be taking away the benefits someone else has paid for.
Ordered one, and managed to find a mate with one who didn't mind me using the code just incase it doesn't come in time, cheers guys anyway

Why is everyone entitled to an NUS card... but no one has one?

because its costs £11 and you'd have to spend £110 before you make any savings

I wouldn't if I were you mate. Places are starting to make it a requirement that you attach your card to your account when you buy something online. For instance, ASOS require you to register your card number rather than entering it every time you buy something. So if someone else registers you number against their ASOS account (for example), you won't be able to use it on yours too.

There's probably something in the T&Cs stopping you from sharing your number too so you might end up having your card revoked..

Edit: Oops, didn't see dcx's post.

P.S. Sodaaaa & Morenon - buy your own! Bloody one-post-wonders coming in here and just scrounging... grrr!
