I have sky broadband
seems great to me, we have the most expensive one with unlim downloads
its always fast, even with 3 comps using it at the same time
when im downloading it usually runs just under 2000kb/s

Awesome as long as you're near the exchange.
I am and I get 18 Mbps download speeds.
A typical 22 minute TV show takes about 2 minutes.

same question was asked in this thread and I can only say once again I've no complaints whatsoever.

Check that Sky LLU is available at your exchange, if it isn't, avoid like the plague.

700mb film in 15 minutes or so when running at peak,

i was 1.8 miles from the exchange and lost 12 of my 20mb connection. if your close to an exchange its awesome, if not i'd go for virgin media personally.

well i was told our internet was fast, a 700mb movie usually takes around 10mins to DL at that speed, i thought that was pretty quick, i dont know what it all means, im a girl and not techie, but in the download manager a 200mb file download runs at speed 2000ish Kb/s and takes 2-3mins at most, and I was told our internet was fast so all I can assume is that the DL speed is good

just having 3 computers running doesn't mean anything really, you can have 100 computers connected to the same network and they'll use a total of 0% bandwidth if they're just idle

You can't some sites will give you a direct distance/as crow flies measurement. But without having access to BT prints you have no way of telling.

You may live 100m from the Telephone exchange but the route of the cable may still be over 1km.

Another factor is type of cable, I'd rather be on a 3 mile copper cable than a 2 mile aluminium cable, again you have no choice in this.
