I wan't to debrand my k660i to a generic firmware by flashing it myself, as there's alot of useless icons that three have added to the menu. But, I still wan't to use my three contract with it. Will it be ok for accessing planet three, and using msn, skype etc after its done? Obviously I'd have to get the settings sent to me again, but the planet three icons would disappear. Would it be as simple as just using the web browser and pointing it to the planet three homepage?

I've just unbranded my K610i on 3. The 3 settings can be found here

You'll be able to change your homepage to the Planet 3 one with those settings. Of course you'll lose all your installed progs and contacts etc so make sure you synch with outlook or something before you start. You'll also need your phones firmware - well I did and it wasn't that easy to find but I did it!

i don't know if you are aware, but if you get your phone flashed, which is none 3 software, 3 will switch off your simm as you are using your phone in a none 3 mobile phone.......crafty i know i had this very same scenario.

i got the phone flashed and started to use my 3 simm and was sent a sms saying that if i dont use my simm in a 3 compatible phone my simm will not be active....i ignored this and carried on using the phone and 8 days later my simm stopped working saying 'emergency calls only'.

i contacted 3 whom said that i was unable to use the simm because i wasnt using a 3 phone, i explained that it was a 3 phone which had been flashed to cater for my needs....they ignored my plea, i then contacted customer service and was told the only way my simm will be active if i use a 3 mobile....which i did, i got the same phone flashed back to the original firmware and it works again.....costing me quite a bit.....so my advice stick with it.....an NO you can't use the same applications are these will be removed.

You must have been using a 2G phone, or had it set to gsm only, three only use 3g phones now and don't like you using their sim in a 2g phone. I'm sure if its 3G capable they don't mind. I've heard of people buying unlocked phones, and three have sent them the settings. I doubt they could even tell if the phone was debranded or not, but they would know if you were using the 2g or 3g signal. Only thing I was worried about was planet three, the programs I have on the phone can be re-downloaded and installed easily. Also if anything did come of it I could just flash it back to the original firmware, its free anyway, although I doubt it would come to that.
