It's great but the crease destroys me even after owning or a couple of months
Have you seen the Moto RAZR folding phone? They've used some clever techniques to stop a crease forming. Still silly money and the specs are not amazing. Yet I still would like one.

My preference of design is the outward folding of the Mate X seems a much better way to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2 grand though!
Get a 4K dual screen laptop too, Asus Zenbook Duo.
I was seriously considering the Samsung Fold but the lack of IP67 or IP68 (dust resistant/waterproof) rating meant it would be a step backwards from my existing Samsung handset so that erm, dampened, my interest.

Also, the fact I had to make an appointment to see a demonstration of the Fold at one of the few Samsung centres where this was available (& the closest to me could show me the handset but not sell me one) killed my enthusiasm too.

How so? I thought it was barely visible when viewed head on. Crease aside, is it decent?

Yes some clever engineering to stop the screen from creasing, I'm really impressed especially cos you get to hang up 90s style by closing a flip phone

You can't just head to an EE store or a Samsung experience store and have a look? I don't want to be harassed by Samsung, let me see the product and decide myself thanks without someone breathing down my neck

I have edited the link for you to make arrangements at those centres that can offer you a hands-on viewing.

Mate X is just a lot worse than galaxy fold imo folding outwards so you get fingerprints all over when you hold it and you cant really put a case on it so if you drop it then 😬 the galaxy fold also looks better imo

When I first heard about folding phones, this is how I imaged they would be. A larger screen which folds in half so the screen is then half the size. When I saw samsung were doing it folding closed I was like WTF

I prefer Samsung for looks and more durable as you can put a case on it
I know someone who has one. They told me that you have to get specialist insurance for it - normal household insurance won't cover it nor would the 'phone shop' (I say 'phone shop' as I don't know where they got it).
