Anyone know a good website to show how prices of houses are falling in your area ?

Goodness! According to the Natiowide my home has devalued by £70,000 in the last year. Houses nearby are selling much higher than the quote given thankfully.

Oh well, its only a paper loss and no intention of moving from our home. Glad I only paid £240,000 6 years ago

depends how much it is worth to begin with... 70000 off 10000 is alot indeed!

the logic is simple: prices went up because banks were lending 5x, 5.5x the annual salary, and up to 110% of the property price!
now with the lack of liquidity in the market, you'd be lucky if bank gave you 2-2.5x your annual salary, and even that with a 30% deposit, so dpeending on the region, and the average work starting salary, you can make up how much money a first time buyer can put to buy a property, and work the ladder up that way.

    :?

isn't that exactly what we have posted?

you won't get it exact unless a house sold a year ago and then sold a week ago in your area (impossible!). Too many other aspects to consider too (renovations, scum family moved in etc)
