Anyone know about how student loans work?

Applied 2 months ago since I changed course,

Got an email last month asking for more id so handed it in and checked a few times a week since then.

I checked Monday afternoon and it was still awaiting assessment

Checked earlier and it said assessed and gave me amount but said a form was sent for me to sign.

The letter was sent monday so im not sure if they sent it to my home address(where I no longer live or have any way of redirecting post) and that do I sign it and post it back or just hand it to student finance at uni.

I had the same problem a couple of years back as far as i can remember I had to sign the letter and return it to them. You could just find out who your LEA (local education authority) is and go have a word with them, they should have an office somewhere, might be able to fast track it too.

The LEA is 130 miles away since I moved out of area.

oh...do they have a telephone number? maybe better to speak to someone in the know than asking randomers advice, like I said, I needed to return the letter. Also you would have to update your information at the LEA due to your change of address (as you said you no longer live there) then request another letter be sent to your new address???

Well the stupid thing is they have this address since when I applied it asked for a home address, and a term time one and when to start to get letters being sent to the term time one, so this is the address they have on system.

Unless it was sent to uni.

I applied after I moved to this address.

...thats odd, something is obviously wrong, give them a ring, they might have the wrong address or something?? from experience i think they try to drag applications out
