Mi5 ?

I don't know much about it but I just rip a copy in to itunes and then download to my ipod. When I had an mp3 player that was not an ipod I used to rip a copy into WMP and then copy on to my mp3 player from there

itunes will do it. I think you have to change it to rip to MP3 in the settings though.

You must have Windows Media Player. Just rip them using that.

I've always liked MusicMatch Jujebox. You can select the MP3 quality and manage files extremely well. This software is freeware and can be found here -

Both WMA and MP3 (that what I use to rip my CDs).

Make sure you play around with the settings - you can pick different levels of quality and format (WMA/MP3)

On the rip tab click on the arrow thats just underneath it and you will see bit rate and format options
128 is ok but it does go up to 320

sorry to sound like dumb, but what does the difference mean128 or up to 320? Is it better to have bigger size?

lol yeah

192 kbps is a good number to use

most wav say about 44 meg for x amount of time the lower the bitrate when mp3'd the smaller the file size will be say 3 meg @128kbps instead of 44 meg for the same song on CD (lower bitrate results in lower quality sounding audio), the bigger the bitrate the larger the file size and higher the quality of the compressed audio 320 kbps will be about 10 meg to 12 for same song.

its just better quality of the sound file. obviously takes longer to convert and creates a slightly larger file

ah ok. Ta everyone

Will put the 128 bit rates ones on mp3 player and see if they any good

It's unlikely you will hear much difference, unless you have some really quality headphones. I use WMP, pretty much the only thing i do use it for!!
