I've got my Broadband on the third floor which is now being used as a bedroom for our new arrival in June so my study has been pushed down to the ground floor. Plus I have the free Virgin TV (Free with phone line) in our lounge but as i have sky i want the tv in my bedroom upstairs.

Does anyone know how much Virign will charge to move these?

yes but 1. I'm at work and would cost a fortune. 2. Pobably get through to Indian call centre and not understand a thing so was after a rough price to see if it was worth the hassel and cost of phoning.

Ring them on their Freefone number?

Bit confused - you have sky and virgin? Am I correct in thinking you want the Virgin TV box upstairs (3rd floor) but you want internet access downstairs?

Its certainly worth calling Virgin to find out, but by all means it they ask for a charge (even just a call-out fee) there are probably much better ways to do what you want, you just need to explain some thing a bit clearer...

Phone Virgin on 150...........its a free call when you get home

Got a 3 level town house. At the moment the line in for the tv is on the middle floor in the lounge. Due to wanting Sky One and Sky + I switched to Sky but as I have my phone through Virgin I still got to keep free Virgin TV.
Got no normal aerial and freeview is rubbish in my area so i thought i would put the Virgin TV up to my bedroom on the third floor.

Broadband line in (Are the boxes where the modem connects to different from the TV boxes?) is on the third floor in one of the bedrooms which was a study but is now a nursery. The Study is now in the coverted garage on the ground floor and I would like broadband in that room now.

Confusing? Yes it is.

I will give them a bell later from home was just wondering if anyone has had it done and what sort of costs i can expect or if they got it for free so I know they can do it for free.
I try thm later cheers.

Lol sounds quite confusing!

Is it virgin broadband (cable)? Or ADSL (telephone line)?

Cable Broadband.

So you have cable feeds already in the middle floor and third floor? You should be able to switch the modem and tv box over no problem, and its possible to extend those cables a bit relatively cheaply if necessary...

One of your best options might be to consider placing a cable wireless router in the lounge attached to the modem, and get a wireless adapter for you PC. Having it in the first floor you should then get internet coverage across the whole house, without messy cables or the need to do any drilling through walls etc. Wireless cable router is about £25 and adapter for your PC around a tenner, could work out significantly less than getting Virgin out...

Alternatively you could get a long network cable from the modem in the lounge to the study? Probably the cheapest option overall, if a bit messy.
