Anyone know if the Dulux Paint Pod's are any good? Or if they can be found any cheaper than £69.99?

Got loads of painting to do in our first house so I was thinking about getting one of these. Anyone used it, or know if they can be found cheaper?
Thanks for any help.

Gimmick

Get normal rollers and trays then sling them instead of cleaning

not very environmentally friendly chucking them away though

Stick a couple of fireworks in your can of "Warm Placenta", light, and run!

Very eco friendly::whistling:

Probably better to set them on fire in your back garden than send them to landfill.... Lot better for the environment.

or be really radical and wash them? has everythin g gotta be disposable?

Better than wasting how many gallons of water cleaning a £1 roller head :?

Give the money ya save to charity to offset any damage

Yeah could do each of those but I was hoping to go for the lazy option with the paint pod!!!! Thanks for the tips guys lol

the paint pods have a self washing function which only uses about 5litres of water compared with the 100litres that you on average use to wash out your roller, tray and brushes.
have seen them demonstrated and they do look good.probably worth getting if your a decorator or doing a whole house probably not if your only doing a room or two.

The idea is good but I think you have to buy special paint to use with this gadget .I'm a painter and use the traditional method of roller & cage , cleaning really is a chore but if done right the rollers last quite a while.Paint is at a high price as it is without buying something special .

paint pod can be bought for around £63 if bought at homebase on a 10% off weekend or if you have an older relative who has a diamond card for use on a wednesday in b&q.the paint is £29.99 for 5litres compared with typically £24.99 for normal 5litres of dulux.(white is cheaper £19.99).paint pod is ideal for home diyer if you have a full house to do and you want to do it quickly or if you decorate yearly.good option is two buy one too share with friends or relatives too keep cost down

Yeah thats a good idea to get one on the 10% off day. I know the paint is more expensive but was going to buy one tub then just refill it with another brand when its empty. We have the full house to do so was hoping to save time (and energy!!) by getting one.

you cant use any other paint you can only use the special paint pod paint.its a certain thickmess/density.if you put another paint in it then it will either block up or splatter.

It says 'Using any other paint in the unit will affect the performance of the unit and may damage the pump affecting the longevity of the unit.' I thought they might just say that to make you think that you have to buy their own paint? Not really sure what to do now as it sounds expensive if you take into consideration the £70 for the unit then £30 each time for paint.

i think you will find they are on offer at either Homebase or B&q over the bank holiday weekend , saw an advert of telly a few hours ago

Paint pod's are currently £34 in B&Q, I made a deal earlier but it was expired/spammed for no reason and once I got a Mod to un-expire it they then deleted it, again no reason given even though I've asked for an explanation through the 'contact us' link.
