    Anyone know what Error 15 is on a prepay electic meter ?

    Afternoon all.

    My daughters just moved into a new flat (yesterday) which has a prepay meter. She gone and topped the key up with 30 quid but when she puts it in the meter all it says is Error 15 and won't add the credit ????

    Anyone know what error 15 is and can it be cleared ?

    Is contacting the electricity supplier an option?

    No indication on the meter or the key which supplier it is and the agents closed today...

    Meters fine until the keys stuck in then up pops the error. How did your dad sort it out ? The shops not interested in helping ?

    it's nothing to do with the shop where you top up .. you need to phone the electricity supplier asap.

    i have a feeling error 15 is a mismatched key
    Was the key already in the property when she moved in or was it from her old place? Keys are tied to meters.
    Other than that try blowing on the key and into the hole where it goes in case theres dust in there. If that doesn't work you would have to contact the supplier

    the key should ahve a little sticker on it which tells you which supplier , also if someone has moved out and left you the key , you may find they have a previous debt and your daughter would be paying for there debt,, can you not contact the previous owners to find out suppliers . i used to have errors but cant remember which it was , it was when the key was dirty ,but i think error 15 is the key does not match the meter

    Nothing on the key at all.
    Flat was rented through an agent, no idea where the last guys gone...

    We think the supplier is Eon, but there seem to be no number to contact on their **** site !

    There are some 'phone numbers ]here

    I'm pretty sure the key is the wrong one, agent may have mixd them up....you will need to wait for the electric company to turn up with another key, they can program one on the spot......say there is ababy in the house even if there isn't!!!

    Thanks for all the help guys. Got hold of Eon (in the end !) they're sending a new key and are refunding the ££
