    Or even administrator

I am not sure this is set when you buy it, you set it yourself when you start Windows (unless you bought it second hand)

if for some reason its set from install, it would be default to 'password', if that doesnt work its been user set and could be anything.

maybe i did set a password on it then :? i can't remember

There is no default password for computers, you enter it when you first turn the computer on. It's very easily hacked though.

you might be best off to just do a fresh OS install =[

no need. there is ways to bypass it, usually a disc is needed, but it can be done from a usb stick as mentioned.

If you are confident with taking a laptop apart and putting it back together then you could take it apart and take the battery out of the motherboard (not the battery that charges your laptop but the one that controls the clock etc), keep it out for a while then put it back in and switch on the laptop, that sometimes wipes the password.

Iv got it to work on one laptop but not on another on so its worth a go if you can't get the password and you are confident in taking apart a laptop.

If you can't get the password, you could try calling technical support.
