Anyone live in Dumfries & Galloway area?

If so ... can you recommend any family orientated places to go, etc. We're in the area later in the month and have a half a day or so to kill with the kids before driving back to Newcastle.

    Any recommendations?

Yeah just checked, it is, its pretty good, well from what I remember it is.

The Rock and Gem Museum in Creetown might be worth a visit:

The Creetown Gem Rock museum is excellent

I would also HIGHLY recommend Cream o'Galloway, which apart from having amazing ice cream, offers loads to do for the family, like looking round the farm, bike rides and nature walks, etc

Also Caerlaverock Castle (National Trust) is nice, good playground for the little ones, but need the weather to be dry for that really

Thanks for the recommendations guys :-)
