any of you nice ladies out there own / use a recent model Tower Pressure Cooker

Mrs Elitom has just bought a Tower Rapide Pressure cooker and was surprised to read in the instructions that when using the quick realese opyion you have to put the pressure cooker under a running cxold tap first.

i can remember this on old fashioned pressure cookers but SWMBO has never had to do this on her 10 year old pretige pressure cooker that now leaks steam all the time.

So anyone who has a Tower P/C do you really have to do this or have they put this in the instructions for haelth and safety reasons.

We woiuld have got another Prestige one but they Prestige now say their models are not suitable for halogen hobs.

Any ideas / info gratefully received

thanks

Hi I have a tower pressure cooker ( used it tonight as it hapens ), but I never put mine under cold running water I just leave it to stand on the side and lose the pressure, never had any problems doing it this way and I've been using mine with no problems for a couple of years now..

I assume the cold water thing is like you said health and safety and I would think the cold water would help the pressure cooker to lose pressure quicker.

Hope this helps.
