Anyone seen Blood Brothers in London Theatre? Especially guys?

Hi all.

Am gonna be kid/monster-free from Wednesday to Friday, so am looking for somewhere for me and OH to go in London.

We don't drink and neither aren't into clubbing and that LOL!

We both like the theatre but - whilst I love all the deep long stories - OH isn't into all them fluffy things usually LOL!

We went to see Stomp and both loved it and also Ghost Stories which we both thought was rather lame.

Blood Brothers has been appealing to me for over a year and I know it's supposed to be fab, but just ain't sure if OH is going to be bored cos he prefers more exciting things...

So have any guys who wouldn't usually like this kind of thing actually enjoyed it? Or can anyone recommend any other ideas (less than £40 for both of us though

Thank yous x

War Horse is amazing, Blood Brothers is good though

Blood brothers is a musical rather than 'theatre'.

I went to see it a few years back - one of the Nolans was in it.

I don't like musicals. So probably best not to give you my verdict.

blood brothers is very good-warhorse looks amazing-next time we are in london I plan on seeing it,jersey boys is excellent too

its simiply amazing, Its got one of the best stories going just for pure entertainment and laughter, its got both in there..

Thanks so much to everyone whose replied so far

Hmmm...I didn't realise than Blood Brothers is more a musical than anything, that's what put me off going to see 'Wicked'

War Horse doesn't really grab me, tbh - a story about a guy missing his horse? Guess I'm uncultured LOL! Can't find any discounted tickets either so I am paying either top price or lower for lower tier seats.

I just found £10 tickets for '39 Steps', which looks more fun - can anyone recommend that?

It's a tricky one, but I wouldn't mind paying more money for a show we both enjoy (but obviously we won't know till we've been!) but going to see Ghost Stories put us off just going to see things for the sake of it, it you get what I mean - the tickets for that were only £5 each plus booking but I would have rather spent my very rare night off doing something else

Anything else going on in London at the moment - like any good circusy shows, something like 'Stomp' or 'Afrika Afrika' kind of thing? I really wanted to see 'Into the Hoods' a good while back but missed it by one day!

GO TO BLOOD BROTHERS! I've seen it 11 times, including twice last week. It is great. Don't worry that it's a musical. Best shows are 1=Blood Brothers, 1=Les Miserables, 3 We Will Rock You
YOU MUST GO TO SEE BLOOD BROTHERS. it's an emotional roller coaster!

And I am male!

As exmouthred says lol - Blood Brothers IS excellent - my 21 year old ds loves it and has seen it at least half a dozen times already - and we're seeing it again in Sept X) !

Also Les Mis is superb - must have seen that at least 4 times now too

Is Spamalot still on anywhere ? OH and I saw that a couple of times in London and on tour - and would happily see it again - sooo funny

Spamalot is great, but no longer in the West End. It is on UK tour though.

Come see it in … Come see it in Eastbournehttp://www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk/What%27s_On/show.asp?showID=2242

Good advice. The current cast of the UK tour is amazing. Sean Jones, who plays "Mickey" is a true genius.
