ios is like some kind of firmware that the wii uses to play the games. there are lots of different versions that get installed when you chip the wii and it looks like the game you want to play needs an ios version that isnt installed on your wii.

iso is a game file for wiis aswell as psp.

to be honest, it's quite complicated to chip a wii if things go wrong. so i can't help you.

if its just one game then just buy that game if you really want to play it. if its all the games that dont work then your wii is screwed up and you will have to do some real research on how to fix it.

google what the error says and add the game title that doesnt work also with the error message and see if it is a known error with that game or something.

good luck. i've almost bricked every wii i have owned. that's why i dont offer to mod anyone elses.

ok the drive needs to be formatted in WBFS Wii Basic File System, you … ok the drive needs to be formatted in WBFS Wii Basic File System, you will need the up to date WBFS manager 3.0 the IOS file will be converted to a file you can boot through, usb loader gx or wiiflow are the best two usb forwarder channels the application lets you choose the game you want to load. if its a new game band hero, or guitar hero you need to get a guide to hermes 222,223 guide it is easy but you need to do your homework, if your drive has been formatted to WBFS then you can add delete games through WBFS manager 3.0. I basically need as much info as you can give me this is a mine field. explain what firmware you on 4.1, 4.2. what loader you use, the more you tell me the more i can help.

Ok, i will try and get the info from the person who did it as it seems i wont get anywhere without it. It will be difficult though as he doesnt seem interested in helping me!

Thanks to all who replied xx

CIOS is the firmware not a particular game. her HDD is probably fine. its the softmod that's screwed up.

    IOS != ISO

ISO is the game format that you load onto the HDD that is formatted in WBFS.

you're uber cute for trying to help but the problem lies with the wii and not her hard drive/games.

    I can guarantee this.

I think you need to install cIOS onto the wii there are softmod guides out there. if someone sold you this wii as softmodded then they have probably ripped you off.

If one HDD is working then it is not the WII it's the HDD. I'd start with reformatting it in WBFS manager as said above but TBH i'd say the reason they gave you two HDDs and aren't willing to help you is that there was a known fault with the second one.

My wii has been modded for a while and ive been using a hard drive with it too. he did these 2 more drives for my friends.
The guy has been messing me around and i finally got the 2 drives back from him less the leads but i can get those anywhere.
I tested the drives on my own wii before giving them to my friends when i found out only 1 worked. he said he can sort it out quickly no problem but has yet to turn up so stupidly i thought i might be able to have a go.

Try a different USB loader, i tried 5 or 6 then finally used Configurable USB Loader and it works a treat, i think some ones dont like certain hard drives because the other loaders i tried didnt see the drive

were both the drives supposed to have the same games on them? if so then u can use WBFS manager to clone the good drive onto the bad one and see if that works. not all external hard drives work with wiis esp ones with usb hubs/card readers built in. even if you fix the second drive it will wont work in the wii with the "cios not found" error

whoever this was ripped you off :-( you should try getting some money back

Long story - its a friends boyfriend (well no longer a friend) he did mine and did it within a week. he has had 6 weeks now and keeps making excuses as to why he hasnt had time to do them! Wish i'd never asked now.

Both drives have got the same games on yes.

I tried to read the lot before posting but
Whichever usbloader your using surely has an option to push right on dpad when connected to the internet to download the latest files you need .. It might be a different button with yours though. also use the buttons on wii mote to scroll through the various options and choose another IOS/option

I'm surprised that no one has asked this.

If they are both the same, then they both should work.
Have you actually tried the WBFS manager yet?

It sounds like a non-cooperative hard drive.
I have had two drives that simply refuse to work as they should.

As i said earlier i really have no clue with any of this. What he did say to me was that if he popped over he could fix it in a couple of minutes so i know its nothing major, maybe something i could do via the wii menus??

I dont know what WBFS manager is but will look it up

I don't know what it is that he could do to it to be honest.
I don't think that you can adjust any of the HDD settings via the console.
