Hi , well just that really!

I can't see any reviews at all for them and am worried as my partner's made a big purchase with them and the item hasn't arrived

The web address is gardenplantsonline.co.uk

No, have used greenfingers.com though and Sutton’s website.
If you open the link you posted there is a live chat option, why don't you ask them where your order is?
The usual check check for a website if you are unsure is to look at the whois record - their domain registration.

Unfortunately, in this case the domain appears to have only been registered in October 17 and is only for 1 year, and no contact details. That would appear to be at odds with the messages on their website.

Registrar: Heart Internet Ltd t/a Heart Internet [Tag = HEARTINTERNET] URL: heartinternet.co.uk

As well as the live chat, they have an email & phone number - any response from them?
It says they take up to 30 days to deliver, Sutton’s sometimes take up to 6 weeks so not unusual if ordering specialist plants.
I've just spent some considerable time going through this website and there seems to be something seriously amiss.

I've looked everywhere I can think of and as you say there are no customer reviews anywhere on the internet. If you click on Testimonials at the bottom of the lead website page none of the comments are anything to do with plants, they seem to be from a supplier of household products eg doors and kitchen worktops.

If you look at the Delivery Policy this seems to have been cobbled together from two diferent websites. The first section states that they aim to deliver within 30 days. The last line of the first section states....If there is cause for concern or any other problems identified, such as damaged parts, on or after delivery, do not attempt assembly. Please telephone us on 0203 1375 159 for further advice. There is no assembly to do with plants so again this seems to have come from a different website.
The next section isn't even in the same typeset and states that they aim to deliver in 3-4 days which is a complete contradiction.

One section says they have a nursery in Guildford, Surrey, another says they are in Alton, Hampshire and Pistoia, Italy. Conflicting information everywhere you look. If you click on Free Delivery there is no free delivery, they say a minimum of £15 per item not per order which is ridiculous if you're buying a lot of items from them. They will only deliver to the roadside which again seems weird.

Can't find anything about them on Companies House and this came up on Scamadvisor...
scamadviser.com/che….uk

I know it's a bit late but personally I would steer well clear.

Thanks for the replies guys . I have a feeling something is dodgy about it aswell. My partner didn't see any bad reviews so thought it was ok , I would have known otherwise! Any chance of getting the money back. Nearly £300 !!! Was paid via a link he was sent ... Yes I know right
No response to email or calls.
No response on the live chat either, sorry.
Oh no....I'm really hoping the bank will refund?!?
Is there any way you can cancel the payment? How long ago was your order?
I'm afraid about a week ! He didn't tell me till now as he knew I'd hit the roof over spending that much on a bloody plant !!!!
It's an easy mistake to make if you don't know what to look for. It does look like a fairly professional website at first glance and looking at the Copyright at the bottom of the page you'd be forgiven for thinking they'd been trading since 2006. Fingers crossed for you but I wouldn't hold out much hope.
The phone number n the site seems to belong to another company too

Thier address is guess...?

Am I right in thinking that the fact he paid via a link sent in an email that there's no chance of any money back? I'm pretty annoyed with him .

Possibly, but report it to your bank AND the fraud online page. The fact there is another company, with some big prices on there, says they "may" be a business with no intention of supplying.

There may be reports already

I expect the link went straight to somebody's paypal account. Don't be too hard on him, like I said an easy mistake to make. In future if in doubt always check scamadviser first.
They even tell old people not to click links in emails, not to pay via link. Sounds like an expensive mistake and one he won't repeat in a hurry.
Take his card and computer away for three months.

Sry but it looks bleak.
"One section says they have a nursery in Guildford, Surrey, another says they are in Alton, Hampshire and Pistoia, Italy."

Pistoia is the main nursery production area in Italy, and all the plants listed and pictured on the site are the varieties, sizes and forms I would expect to be grown there. The plants pictured are not UK grown. That in itself is not an issue as a lot of plants from this area are imported into the UK and other Northern European countries.

The crass way the site is cobbled together from a number of other sources, and no mention of who or what company is behind it, are concerns.

Looking through the 'Recent Articles' linked to on the front page, I opened 'Autumn Gardening'.

gardenplantsonline.co.uk/225…-4/

This has a link to a website that has been closed down gardenplantsonline.co.uk. Googling gardenplantsonline leads to the following Facebook page.

facebook.com/pg/…nal

If you open that and read the comments, they're almost all from people who've been ripped off.
Looking at that facebook link it seems a few people have had their money refunded, I hope you are one of the lucky ones OP.

Thanks , disgusting how these people get away with it ! How does that FB page have 1004 likes ? I expect that can be faked also !
Wondered if the OP had any joy with this?
Hi he's filled in a form from the bank and it can take up to 30 days to get any resolution. Seems a long time to me I thought it would be refunded within a few days ? They haven't given any idea whether it will be successful. Its odd how this place is still up and running, and able to keep scamming people ?
Hi Glad to hear all is not lost, hope he gets his money back at the end of it all.
Did he report it to Action Fraud? the only way the site will get taken down is if everyone who's lost money does the same.

Here's a link, you can contact them 24/7, good luck.
