Picked up an eero pro in the ongoing search for a mesh network and it seems ok to administer so now thinking of adding to it.
Anyone have experience of using mixed eero units, say a basic eero to extend? Debating whether to buy another pro or go for an extender (non-6 model)? I will want at least one other unit with Ethernet but wondering what everyone’s experience mixing the different types was?

In your situation I'd buy a wireless extender from Amazon and trial it, you can return within 30 days so that's a reasonable period to evaluate. I don't know your requirements but the non-6 is £59 vs £99 so considerably cheaper and from all I have seen the "6" models are a mere 10% faster for a vastly inflated price.
Overall, I'd say the eero system is pretty easy to administer and provides good coverage but there are light bulbs that appear to fall off the system temporarily but mostly it is good. It's curious how bulbs close to the gateway have a problem but somehow the siting here (unavoidable) has caused this with every brand of router I've used (& with different brand bulbs).
