Anyone with a Sony USB Stereo?

    Hey guyz

I was wondering if anyone ever tried a USB powered Hard drive with their Sony USB slot on their car stereo

I wanna buy one because I have like 60gb worth of music which I wanted to just leave around in my car..

Dont wanna buy it if it doesn't work though!

    Any experienced peeps ere?

you cant plug an exernal harddrive in because you usually need a power source too for a large drive but a pen drive is good enough, I have 16 gig, i bought one from halfords, fitted for 150, has an SD slot at the back too which is also veryhandy!

I was thinking of the ones that are USB powered, I've seen a few Seagate, Western Digital Passports but I don't know anyone with one to actually try it out first..
Otherwise if i buy it then all it'll be used for is music, so I don't wanna waste my money if it ends up being a dud!

I was thinking of a SD card but it goes up to 32gb..
I got a about 60gb of albums i've come across which I use reguarly so i'd like to move them all over..but there's more on my external music harddrive..(the ones with the main power tho!) so I wouldn't mind just moving the whole thing onto the usb powered one! Soo i'd be roughly looking for about a 250gb drive =]!

    Thanks for the reply though..

Awesome thats looks a lot like my one.. Mine has AUX jack as well.. So it might just be a newer model

See it is quite tempting isn't it! :whistling:

If it will run a USB stick it should be fine. It's Amazon so sending back is easy if you don't want it. The thing for me would be how the stereo performs at listing tracks unless your just going to random it. Thats nearly 2 years of continuous music.

I've got a 8gb pen drive on it at the moment(which is kinda full of new songs..)
My stereo has a file viewer so you can go through folders and choose individual songs so finding them shouldnt be a problem.

I doubt 2 years, I skip through songs after like 30 seconds =D
So about 1 year maybe..

Well they are not all MP3's or you have them encoded at massive bit rates.
