Hiya,
It's my mom's birthday soon and I'd love for her to swim with the dolphins but she doesn't want to fly abroad. Just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere in the UK that we could possibly take her to??

Someone asked this ages and ages ago.

There were one or two ides that came up, maybe one was in Ireland - you could get the ferry across

There isn't anywhere in the Uk with captive dolphins, you could take her to Mull to watch them in their natural habitat though.

You get Dolphins in the Minch between Isle of Skye and Harris and Lewis in the north of Scotland. Also some other places down that coast, along with whales and other marine animals.

Wouldn't recommend swimming, bit cold, but I have sat in boat and watched them.

I don't think any dolphins would survive in UK waters.

why not try and convince her to go by coach to spain or italy, a company called Ferris do great trips they stop for the night in paris to break the journey and then its onlyanother 8 - 10 hrs quite reasonalble too if you book last minute - that way she gets to experience Paris and driving down over the border to spain, they make plenty of stops and I am sure she would enjoy it, she sounds quite active (if she wants to swim with Dolphins)o the trip would not be a problem for her - Good luck

You could try off the coast of west Wales, there are loads of dolphins and porpoises there. There was a story in the press this week about the round britain powerboat race threatening their habitat...... and what about Cornwall - there was a pod that beached themseves there this week.

I would, but I think it'd be illegal, although the memories of swimming with dolphins then arrested by police (mom would say they were hunky no matter what they looked like) so that'd be another gift for her lol

Not really, a better idea might be to go on a dolphin spotting boat trip

She would probably prefer ones that are still alive.
