    AOL - Nightmare HELP?

    Hey guys, ive been with AOL for about 6-7 months. I recently moved house and phoned them on the 2nd of june to request the house move procedure. On the phone the woman said she will put my account on hold so i dont have to pay while im not using the service, and that she had put the request in for the house move. Ive rang about 10 times or more since because i was told to check up on it etc, i rang back on the 8th and they said no house move request was put on the account. so they did it again...which is bloody annoying, wasting my damn time...then i rang back to ask how long it would take and she said the line was cleared and ill have the net 'tomorrow' i didnt so i rang today and he said noone put in the request to have me re-connected.....so he said he done this and it will take up to 10 days.....if they had done it when i rang last...id be online...

    im really sick of ringing them to check if they have done their jobs on the phone. and now ive been told im still gonna be charged even tho i havent had the internet from the 2nd of june. Can i cancel my contract???? Im totally sick of them and dont want to have to deal with their incompitence anymore.,.

    Cancel your DD - they will soon contact you......

    You can claim that they have been in breach of contract due to very poor service. If they deny this then you can request copies of the recorded telephone conversations under the data protection act although they are within their rights to charge a small fee for this. :thumbsup:

    i rang again to cancel and there just saying ring in a couple of days and they will let u know when u will be going live..etc...

    Demand that the matter is escalated and ask to be put through to retentions. :thumbsup:

    how do i ask for those do i write??? if so where to?

    its not DD its the long card number...im contemplating canceling my debit card and getting a new one with my new number...what do u think?

    You need to ring and request and they'll give you an address that you can write to or they'll be able to do it over the phone.

    If you cancell the DD you will then be in breach of contract. Ring and demand action.

    ok thanks im gonna do it.....also have to ring about some missing cashback from e2save.....SIGH

    Just write and complain. Get the head office address and right to the person in charge. No matter how much i am nbeing messed around by a company that seems to work.

    BTW i was with AOL and the advise i give is get out while you can...they are rubbish. Having said that i have just bought my own house, moved around renting for a while before that and no matter who my ISP was i never got decent service during the move.

    It is still a direct debit phone the bank and cancel also remember AOL is now talktalk.
    Cr*p customer service I had to threaten them with ofcom just to get them to sort an e-mail address after three months of trying
