Appalling Yodel customer service

Has anybody else ever used the Yodel chat to enquire about a delayed delivery? I couldn't see a phone number on their site so I tried using the chat tool.

Almost one hour after starting the conversation the assistant named Michael was no where nearer to providing any useful answer at all. I don't understand how Yodel can operate like this.

I have a screenshot of the whole conversation but I'm not sure how to add an image to this post - can anybody tell me how?

You obviously haven't seen Watchdog or threads on here........YODEL are the worst courier company ever!!!!
There's a thread on the Amazon site asking them to stop using Yodel, that has its over 1800 posts (most of which say please stop, Amazon have not even responded).
They're the worst company out there. Last Jan their driver left our new TV just leaning against our back door in full view of everyone in the pouring rain !
It seems they only employ people with no common sense. . .
I've never had a problem with them, but i've seen the threads and horror stories on here, so i guess im one of the few lucky ones

I've had problems in the past from Yodel in respect of the competency of delivery.

But I've not yet had to deal with their appalling customer service until now - although in the past I think I have given up trying to contact them. It seems their site is set up so that it is impossible to make contact except for online chat.

The only enquiry form I can see requires compulsory details about collection address and collection number - clearly the customer does not know these.

I've just sent a complaint to Amazon.
I must be one of the lucky ones.

Never had a problem receiving items yet.

I had a 'next day' delivery arrive after 4 days and was told that 'We were busy', and the driver just walked away. . .
Horrible horrible people to deal with. Had my phone by CPW sitting for over a week in some depot as they couldn't be bothered to pick it up. Claimed they didn't have an order number, CPW said they did. So just cancelled it in the end, as have had plenty of headaches from them before.

I'm waiting on two parcels coming from them today, one is a replacement from which they lost but I think they pinched it as the drivers story was so dodgy. I just hope I actually receive them today and they don't go walkies.

I think it really does vary with location quite a bit, when I was at Uni they were terrible (lying about leaving calling cards and what not), however back home I have yet to have a problem with them.

I have complained to them and Office Shoes but judging by the comments above am not likely to get a reply atrocious service!!!

My delivery was late and they didn't have the basics such as an apology. What training do these people get?
When I order anything from any company I will ask what courier company they use!
I honestly think the new boss of Yodel should go ' Undercover Boss' and see what a poor service us customers really get.

I had problems both time on the first delivery I went on line to tell them I would collect and twice they tried to re-deliver when I was not at home which delayed me getting my parcel by 3 days!!. I went to the delivery office where they were very helpful and arranged a time for it to be delievered that afternoon. I was advised to ring the local office and not use the website or 0800 number as they are both dreadful.
Second occasion I rang the local office number advised I would pick my parcel up after missing the initial delivery, however yet again they tried to deliver it, when I called to complain they re-attended my home within 15 minutes. Therefore customer service brilliant, but they need to sort out the the website and awful 0800 1577777 numbers as they are no use to man or beast!!

So similar to my story, I reckon it was my driver who stole my parcel.

I was waiting for two parcels, but only one turned up. The tracking status for each parcel stated scanned in to local depot 8 minutes between parcels, but only one parcel got scanned onto van out for delivery.

The missing parcel was never scanned onto van, status would only show @ local depot.......

All Yodel drivers scan and load their own vans in the mornings............. its too easy for a Yodel driver to load his own van with a parcel but not actually scan in on, i.e tracking status would still show '''''@ local depot''''' when infact the driver has it on his van ready to drop it of at his mates house or his own address on his round...............even at local pub at lunchtime....... lol

We delivery drivers sometime have timed delivery and 100 drops to complete a day. For those customers who leave those note that is not acceptable. Other customers leave notes saying "Plse deliver my parcel in my workplace 10 miles from our designated post codes. For me I always leave three calling cards (1st day, 2nd day and 3rd day) from there I take parcel back to the depot. I dont understand why someone order their parcel and wait for them to be carded 2 twice let alone thrice.

When I buy things online it is my responsibility to be in the house or tell the neighbour to take it on my behalf, why do someone buy things online knowing all very well they will be at work, why dont redirect it to your work place. To be sincere I have seen very good customers as well as too rude customers.

The other day a customer asked me " why are u delivering my parcel this time? You should know that I work night shift, I sleep during the day. She took the parcel, slammed the door n refused to sign."

One parcel from my 2 box consignment went missing, how do Yodel explain that ?

I placed 1 order online with a retailer for two items.
I had a estimated delivery date given.
Both my 2 box consignment got scanned in at my Local Yodel depot.
Both boxes were scanned in 8 minutes apart from each other.
BUT! only one box got loaded onto the delivery van, out for delivery.
Only one box was delivered.
The missing box was never found, no other tracking information.

The missing box was a computer, its pretty obvious it was stolen by a Yodel employee from within the depot. The box was scanned into local main van loading area out for delivery, but the box was never loaded onto the van.............. I understand all drivers load their own vans on morning of delivery run.................... mmmmmmmmmmm!

OH! I waited in all day to receive my 2 box delivery, but only one box came. The driver said the other box must be back at depot, it should be delivered next day, I waited in for the 2nd day for the missing box, it never came. I called Yodel, they re-booked the missing box for delivery for the 3rd day.............. guest what! I waited in all day again and box never arrived, so 3 whole days I wasted because of Yodel, the 4th day Yodel inform me the box is lost....................

I agree impossible to get through. Even the automated message was rude. I got round it by going to local yellow pages and obtained the landline number, the girl in Leamington Spa couldn't have been more helpful.
Was expecting to get a new iPhone 5 on contract delivered by yodel! Well the delivery man failed to turn up twice which was Thursday then Friday! Yet he claims to have attempted delivery when I was in all day about 3 yards from my front door and my intercom is extremely loud...nothing so complained to them arranged redelivery for Monday as they claimed that's the earliest date it could be posted!? What do you know saturday it was out for delivery?! WTF! Lucky my brother in law knew the big bosses son who also worked for yodel! Said the driver delivering in my area was foreign Indian who had loads of complaints against him for not delivering ! Anyway i finally got my parcel off the brother and opened it only too find a nokia 100 the crappest phone ever and no receipt but the iPhone nano sim was there! I was crying my eyes out! They are finger printing the driver tomorrow and the nokia phone box ! DONT USE YODEL! I reckon that's why he never delivered because he knew it was a phone so he tampered with it!!!!

Worked for home delivery for 5 years good place to work wages always right . Then it move down the road and change to yodel what a joke you are just a number . We was on good money pound a parcel moved to yodel 50p what a joke that is how can you live on that, that's why couriers don't last .we was good couriers 100 and more parcels a day .we left because they dropped it to 50p so we had to leave ,good couriers are hard to get nothing gets done even when you wright a comment . We have been waiting fit 200pound for 4 months still no joy she is the boss of hull depo and all we get she's sorting it how long does it take we was self employed from hull Wiltshire road .200. Pound is a lot of money when you have nothing but that doesn't matter to them . Bang out of order needs sorting but it won,t
so they pay you 50p a parcel... what do you actually have to do?

some parcels have to be signed for by the consignee only which means the driver is unable to leave with a neighbour

I Have had that problem of expensive things being left by my front door! I think the best one has to be my latest episode with them where I came home from work to find my back gate kicked to pieces so they could get in my back garden, even though the delivery instructions were to leave it in the recycle bin at the side of the house. They apparently investigated it and the driver denied it, even though i provided photographic evidence and witness statement from some one who saw him do it, they have rejected my claim and arent going to reimburse me for a new gate!
so I was awaiting a yodel delivery, knowing full well it would be delivered when I was in work. hey presto, it did. So I contacted Yodel to inform them I would attend the depot the following day to collect it in person as I was told a Saturday delivery is not possible and also that I could not specify a delivery time slot.
The following day I arrive at the depot to find out that it had been sent out for delivery again that day (which was not agreed) and that it had not returned to the depot as of yet. So I am then asked what day would be best for them to redeliver, at which point I said a saturday and they said "no problem"!! so why do customer services say a saturday delivery is not possible!!! If I had known a saturday is possible first off, it would have saved me a 30 mile round trip and alot of frustration!

now to see if my parcel actually turns up on Saturday.......hmmmmm

YODEL i had a delivery set for the 7th had to stay in all day waiting for it with a 3 year old kid, and guess what sod all grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Just found out that a parcel to be delivered to me by YODEL has been signed for in the name of MURPHY (my surname) - funny that my husband was in all day and the goods where not delivered to my house. The status on the screen shows as out for delivery and then delivered back to the sorting office... yet they are saying it was signed for.
I had a parcle due to be delivered by Yodal, had a failed delivery yesterday as I was at work got home to find a card posted through the door. The driver had written on the card "Don't order stuff if your not home" what has it got to do with him,do they think that we just have to put our lives on hold when we order things. Called the customer service line to reorganise and the tracking number they have given me does not work just says it's unrecognised. There was no option to speak to somebody. I finall spoke to someone on a different number asked them to leave at the depot and I will collect myslef as I am not having some idiot delivery driver tell me I should not be ordering things. We will see tonight if it is at the depot as I requested
Yodel are without doubt the worst courier service ever they are without doubt the worst run company i ever encountered, they are completely and utterly useless. 4 times they have delivered (or not as the case maybe) and not once have they managed to get it right not once. I now ask which courier firms use to deliver the goods I order if they say Yodel I will cancel my order they are that bad. They should be struck off as a company and leave it to TNT and the like who actually know what they are doing. Shameful.
just had an email tonight saying our two bags of dog food left in safe place, odd that as both I and wife have been in all day, so we have just walked around the block and luckily found our delivery left on someone elses doorstep, completely wrong house number and left in full view of everyone, what useless tossers this bunch are.
looks like the driver is human and has made a mistake silly error of course we are all perfect and have never made mistakes!
