quite simply i want a new car, soft top. all because my fella has just got a brand new audi A4 estate with all the "extras"

now it's my turn. problem is do i copy with an audi (i really do like his) or is there something else hot and possibly not as expensive?

must haves are:

integrated sat nav
power hood
4 (pref 5 seats)
cd multichanger (although can prob get on most as extra)
& be no more expensive than audi a4 cabriolet

suggestions?

i love the way a woman thinks. the must haves of a car

sat nav and cd multichanger.

guys must haves

24v 2.8 engine 17" alloys etc. lol

There is always the VW Beatle convertible. Not sure about the price but I would be suprised if they were more than the A4!

lmao. i'm sorry, my blonde moment. lol

alloys are a must have bit size doesn't matter

I've got a 1996 Astra convertible you can buy! 4 seats, Cd player, Power hood, Minor crash damage in the rear drivers side quarter panel, Alloy wheels etc.

Think i could just about sell you it for around the same price as a A4 cabriolet! ;-)

unfortunately my banana boat was not the last one, it sailed such a long time ago, so i'll pass.:whistling:

thanks for the offer though. lol ;-)

the beetles are rediculously overpriced for what you are getting. you would be much better off getting a mini convertible if you wan a car like that. i can truely reccommond a mini as we have had two first a 51 reg and now got an 04 reg. .... which i have been driving and its great! the rents are now being tempted by another... this time my dad says he can save money by spending more on a cooper s so he cant put me on the insurance.

How about this?

Beats the pants off those nasty little German cars.

How about a Fiat 500 soft top (If they do one)?
No seriously my GF has a SAAB 900 soft top and she loves it.
Try the newer SAAB 9-5 soft top!

what about the new A3 cabriolet, very very nice and there wont be many about

audi.co.uk/aud…tml

or maybe a BMW 1 series cabriolet...

gorgeous car the A3 but i'm a little wary. bloke at work had his house broken into whilst he was bathing his baby and they were held at knifepoint for the keys of his A3.

police later told him it's THE car that steel to order thieves / bank robber types want an the moment!

the 1 series is pretty hot, but i've always said bmw owners drive like complete plebs, so i'd be a bit of a hypocryte & my driving would deteriorate overnight ! lol

very nice! added to shortlist.

thanks & rep !

BMW 3 series easily i would have chosen the audi but you want something different then its a bmw 3 series

the saab looks nice, and the VW Eos actually looks quite good too.

There is absolutely nothing to compare to the Audi A4 convertible within the same price range.
Nothing handles better or delivers the same power to the wheels and Audi have spent a fortune on keeping the body rigid when the roof is down.

one major plus of the others is the rigid, rather than cloth roof. in the winter you wouldn't even know it was a convertible.

shortlist at the moment:

audi a4
saab 9.3
WV Eos
if all else fails - BMW

Well guessing you have about £30k to spend. So at the cheaper end maybe a Peugeot 307 Coupe Cabriolet or at the other end a Mercedes CLK cabriolet.

Or if it doesn't have to be new and you dont use the back seats that often then my suggestion would be a Porsche 911 carrera 4 cabriolet(look for one with a hard top for winter).

You will get a low mileage 51/02 plate put a private plate on it and nobody will be the wiser as to how old it is. They are well built and servicing at an independent Porsche specialist wont cost any more than taking the other car you are looking at to the main dealer.

But do get an insurance quote first, but as you are female and I guess over 25 and I guess live in a nice area it wont be as bad you may think.

Have a super car, the guys will be impressed and so will the women and you'll feel like a million dollars!

Just go and test drive one then look at your smile on your face.

she wants 5 seats and porsche 911 is really right at the back.

id say bmw 3 series , mercedes clk or saab 9.3
