I was thinking about buying an iMac but as my son is just turning 18 in 4 days, and still in 6th form going into university. Would he be able to get student discount? If so how do I order with the student prices? I have never seen them but just heard of them so sorry for sounding a bit slow

I believe educational prices are approximately 15% off the original listed price.

You will get the Apple Educational discount, but not the Apple Higher Education discount which is worth more.
I know with the HE discount you need to log on via your university network or you can phone them, so maybe try phoning them and seeing what they say.
Alternatively go to an Apple store with your son and take proof of his educational status and they will process the discount for you in store.

you need to ring to them or use a computer on the school/college/university network to access the prices.

Also, check here for prices including discount: store.apple.com/uk-edu

I can link you to the HE discount if you decide to buy....PM me when you aren ready

This is the higher rate of discount

ring them tomorrow on 08000391010

btw, how much discount is it? 8%?

for iMac, I think it is 14% discount (basic model), 15% only apply for over £1000 Mac

discount on base iMac is around 12%

Thanks for the help so far guys!

So because i'm not fully in higher education yet I won't get the best discount.

Is that link above the prices for a student at college?

stupid question can a teacher get the discount or only students as my uncle is a teacher and is considering an imac ?

do you get discount on ipads?

Usually all they ask for is a *.ac.uk email address.

They might also ask for a building pass / ucas letter.

Yes they can, not sure of the rates though, i checked this the other day.

Apple education prices depending where someone is studying
it is not a fixed price as it varies between unis and colleges
The cheapest price i have found is via NUS card discount.
If you son has not got one just tell him to sign up for one (think you can do it online) it costs £11 but saves you 15% off the price + cashback ontop
