Are 16 & 17 year olds entitled to Holiday pay?

As per title. My son started work at the age of 16, and is now 18, and had not been given holiday pay. So now he is in the process of claiming it back. Therefore, just to make sure are 16 & 17 year olds entitled to holiday pay?

Does he have a contract? Should be in there, I think it also depends on the amount of hours per week he works as well

minimum wage law negates discrimination law as does state pension at the moment. But I guess you knew that - if you are trying to say that minimum wage should be the same for everybody regardless of age - I may well agree with you but the law says different.

minimum wage is low for young people to make them more attractive to employers. I think it's a good thing.

Hmmm , at £3.87 an hour for 16/17 year olds, once they have paid their bus fare into town and back for a Saturday job, doesn't actually leave them with much though, especially as a lot of the part time retail jobs are contracted on half day shifts in our town. Anyway a slight move away from OP question, to which I would assume his contract would lay out holiday pay, depends if a zero hours contract or not I guess.
