Thinking of getting this:

currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

just not sure how reliable an "essentials" item will be?

£30 off when you open a credit account. Done it myself using about 20+ different emails and always paid it off in full straight away.

The Argos value range fridge/freezer here looks very very much like the one at Currys. Gets great reviews though.

They are OK as a stop gap but don't expect them to last year's.

We had a essentials larder fridge from them - within 6 months it had gone wrong - waited a week for repair guy to be told it needed a total new motor, and we would have to wait a fortnight - great! Apparently the new motor cost over £200, the fridge cost £189! Work that out! The repair guy said we have a rolls royce engine in ford ka - haha! Bits will drop off before this motor goes kaput. Can't say am overly impressed with the quality, you get what you pay for I guess but was all we could manage at the time, and we had to borrow a fridge off someone while ours was awaiting repair, was all a bit of a nightmare!

One you are looking at is 85litres total, the Swan is 90. Never had any problems with them, so can't help with that. Not heard any scare stories about them.

But it was the Rolls Royce engine that failed oO, The Ford KA outlived the engine.

I think it's more like you buy a Ford Ka. Engine fails. Mechanics buys a Ford Ka engine and says it is as expensive as a Rolls Royce one. Just because it cost the engineer £200 for the motor doesn't mean it is worth that much.

What I meant was it was an cheapy essentials fridge with a cheapy essentials motor - which failed and the repair guy put another motor in (under warranty) which was worth way more than the whole fridge to begin with - sighhhhh I knew what I meant anyway

You can tell its totally different its very quiet and keeps a constant temperature, I totally agree with what you are saying but I tend to agree with the repair guy when he said it would have been cheaper to replace the whole thing, but they have to follow the warranty agreement to the letter

I imagine image quality of a TV is a bit harder to absolutely perfect compared to a fridge.
