Are Tesco prices the same across all stores and the same as the net?

The reason that I ask, is that I am about to move within a few weeks from a city of 200k people that has 3 Tesco supermarkets to a village in the cotswolds that only has around 250 houses and the nearest Tescos is in the next town..

I've been told by a friend that the out of town Tesco's in the cotswolds (Stow on the Wold)seems more exspensive and that they do their shopping when they venture into the city.

I would have personally thought that the prices would have been very much the same though, especially if the option for a web order and then home delivery is an option - Am I wrong?

Thanks in advance to all and any who reply.

No, there are differentprices for some things

There is a difference between Stafford & Stoke Tesco's which I go in

Ive moved from Staffs to Herts and I thought prices would be different as I had moved further south but there was no difference at all.

totally agree. my mum lives in stafford but does to tesco in trent vale as its much cheaper, esp fresh produce.

my mum often tells me what the half price veg is, and it isn't the same as worcester. worcester is dominated by tescos and they take advantage of it. i get so angry.

Well I'm talking about the large superstore not metro..

Diffence is only on some items though...but I have noticed a lot with sundry items, but only a bit on groceries...

they also sometimes have different special offers weirdly

I suppose that if you buy from the net though and get it delivered then you'd naturally get the net prices, etc?

Prices on the net are the prices from the store that will deliver them (your closest big store), so prices and availability vary also. Frustrates me sometimes when I read a good deal on here but my local Tescos don't do it.

Some stores do not stock the items you order. Like my Tescos order when they replaced a case of stella cans with stella bottles as they don't stock the cans and never have. They said it was a glitch so I think they have slightly different web shops for different regions. Prices, I don't know about though, sorry.

Tesco not suprisingly tailor there range to the type of consumer in the areas they are supplying - therefore different stores in different areas may stock items others do not.

For example they will stock more of their 'Finest' range in stores in more affluent areas - their special offers, and hence prices, can also vary from store to store too for similar reasons.

tis different here value bacon is 50p in store, but online u get charged £1.08

I think most of the big food retailers vary their prices depending on where they are in the country. Some, even based on where they are in the city.
