Are The Banks Still Giving £50 For An Undated 20p?

I found one today. No date anywhere on the coin & the new design on the front.

Will be made up if it's the one the banks are recalling!

Thanks for the replies so far.

Checked ebay earlier & the average selling price is about £80 but with fees & all the hassles that go with it, don't think I can be bothered with it!

May keep hold of it though...not thought that far in advance!

I seen some selling for thousands millions?

Keep it, think of it as a long term investment. There are so so so few undated coins of any era about. It's going to be worth a lot more in the future.

Oh, and it was the London Mint that was buying them, a private company, not to be confused with the Royal Mint, who makes the money.

Some people are being stupid and selling their undated tail side 20p coins ALL new 20p coins have no date on the tail side!

No, it was the "london mint office" basically, this is a company who have decided to buy up all of the coins for £50 each.

Once they have the majority of the coins out there they have control of how much one goes for, rather than there being 200,000 out there at £50 each they can limit supply to collectors and charge extra.

So in a few years they might be charging £100 for one of these coins. . .

i dont really see how they are so valuable anyway

555 people have viewed that page :w00t: They've had 6 offers for it aswell, wonder how much they offered?

Thanks for the info guys, I'm going to hang onto it for a while. As someone else posted earlier, it was the banks buying them back for £50 it was a coin collecting company in London. Basically, offering £50 for each one so in a couple of years could sell them on for a profit.
