Argos deliveries....have you had one on time?

I am making a complaint to Argos about their delivery service, I bought a freezer from them, I arranged an afternoon delivery (12-6) and waited, the day before we got a text message saying that it would be delivered between 11-13.00. Julie adjusted her day as that wasnt too far out... then.. the delivery driver phones up at 07.00 saying he will arrive in an hour! Julie says she will come straight back but she had the grandson at playschool so it wasnt too easy.... on her way back she gets another call from the driver saying "I'm still waiting!" What is the point of arranging delivery times when the drivers sit there and adjust it so they get to the pub a bit earlier...wound me right up

    normally spot on for me

I really feel for you - I once ordered a fridge-freezer from Argos, and got rid of my old one on the strength of it being delivered that day, only to have it cancelled AFTER the delivery time. They then cancelled it two more times before I finally got one - not the one I had ordered but I was getting desperate by then!

It is worth complaining, as at the time they told me they do pay compensation (such as lost pay for missed appointments) if you write in.

    Good luck!

    spot on for me too...

I am sure they would not survive if they treated everyone like this but a friend has just had a cooker delivered and the same happened to them... it maybe just a local problem but i want to find out

they wont pay for missed appointments lost pay, if i had a pound for every time i heard someone say they had to take the day off(unpaid) unpaid mu aaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssss they may pay if it was 2 or 3 times they messed up

bottom line is i dont care who you are you arnt gonna take a day off work without pay to wait on a delivery if delivery date is no good for you esp with argos you just say and re schedule

Have had a few deliveries from the recently. Always arrived on time and within the hour they specified
