Argos Fast Track Collection - does this entitle me to protection under Distance Selling Regulations?

I'm a sucker for deal and bought the philips noise-cancelling headphones at argos everyone was going crazy about. As it turns out, the noise-cancelling abilities are sub-par and I figured that I'd rather spend more to get a better one. The thing is, I have already opened the box and tried on the headphones. Do you guys thing Argos would allow me an opened package? If not, I might need to rely on DSRs, so is this covered if I collected in stores? The box is undamaged, but i've used a pen knife to cut the clear sticker at the opening.

Edit: Upon further research, it doesnt seem like it since it's under Argos' terms and conditions that the completion of contract is when the item is collected. so no DSRs, i supposed

Argos have a pretty good return policy so will usually accept returns as long as it's in a condition to be resold. You can always say they don't work properly and take back as damaged.

To answer your question about DSR I don't believe you are covered.

If u pay before collection its covered under DSR
If u just book and pay on collection then it's not
Argos don't say no to returns
When I was a poor student I bought a backpack used for my ex tour for 12 days n returned after I came back
Out of curiosity how is the sound quality n are they comfy on ears I put them in basket couple of times but was confused between them and bose wired ones from JL so didn't get any
just make the box look unopened and take it back, unless you ripped it open like an ape?
The reason they don't accept returns on headphones is hygiene.

Would you want to buy a pair of headphones that has been previously worn? If you had wanted to try them, you should have asked in-store first. Just sell them second-hand on ebay, making it clear they were tried, but not worn continuously.

It sounds ok but I think it will take some time to get used to the on-ear headphones. my right ear hurt and became sore to touch after listening. of course it is nothing compared to a bose
Took mine back and got a refund, the only reason they are "noise cancelling" is because of how tight they are oO

may I ask what reason did you give them?
I said they were too tight, I found them really uncomfortable

Their returns policy has always been good? Where did you read this too
I would say Argos and supermarkets are the easiest for returns in my experience
