Argos price change

I saw some hair clippers from Argos I wanted and 2 days later I was gonna go buy them but they nearly doubled in price along with the extended guarantee, gutted obviously, so I contacted them on Twitter and they said prices can change whenever without reason and it was best to go in store and ask about the price I saw it at.
I have zero confidence in getting the previous price but I might still try. Has anyone done something similar and have any advice?
