Argos Price Drops?!! Can I Get Refund?

    Hi all,

Friday evening I went to Argos and purchased a PS3 bundle. I did alot of research into bundles and the like before I purchased but missed something important...

After getting home I googled about the PS3 and found that on Tuesday PS3 are announcing something. Its speculation at the moment but people speculate it could be a price reduction.

Where would I stand if they do reduce their price on tuesday?! Can I get a refund for the difference or have I gotta live with it?

    Cheers!

    J

p.s, When I purchased the PS3 I was told that the item was exempt from their 30 day money back policy unless it was faulty. I didn't think too much of it at the time but this could mean a price drop...

As Sparkle said. If you purchase an item thats marked as excluded from the 30 day money back guarantee then you cant take it back for a refund unless the item is faulty.

Of course, how the item gets faulty within the 30 days money back period is a different ball game

    Haha, Cheers!!

Might have to have a look into the possibilities of making a faulty PS3...

no u cant do anything...Argos quite strict now on returns as well

Tell them its faulty when you take it back and you want a refund rather than another one.

    Tempted to defraud?

Incitement to defraud is almost certainly a criminal offence as has just been committed by esq3585.

I don't think it's likely to be a price cut as they've denied a price cut 30 times already but could be also they said it's sony announcing something could mean a psp price cut maybe even a ps2 price cut or a new game or even maybe a new engine could be anything but it's gotta be big because they've waited 'till after GDC to mention it.

wot? you mean like company's do with consumers everyday? and the consumer ends up getting shafted?.....I've got plenty of instances of that on my hands, but if you want to take my cases up pro bono and shaft the company on my behalf then be my guest. Until such times its perfectly acceptable for the consumer to take the action that has the best outcome for them. :whistling:

Specifically one instance where I purchased a DVD player that was advertised and worded as being Multi Region, but when I received the DVD player it wasnt multi region. when I called the company to ask for an exchange their answer was "We have had very few issues with these items compared to the volume sold, so we are not willing to do an exchange."

now somebody hit me with a sledgehammer if I am missing something here, but when I studied Company Law, that was a blatant breach of the Sale of Goods act. Yet the company did nothing no matter what.

    thats just one instance.

The other is where an online retailer (has been posted on here before, GamingExtreme for those who may be familiar) this was a rogue online retailer that took peoples orders for Wii Fits and other gaming and computer related items. But never delviered. I ordered and paid for my Wii Fit MAY 2008 and have yet to receive the item or the refund. The retailer basically said "No" to my refund, which I have in an email. How did the retailer get around it? by closing his website and shutting off his phone number so nobody could contact him. End result? The consumer gets shafted yet again.....

so to the person babbling on nonsense about fraud, maybe they should consider how many company's shaft consumers before judging those people for the actions they take when it comes to buying from a company.

If you wanted to break it just yank the power during a firmware update, that seems to be the thing the console least wants you to do

Nope, picked it up from the store...

If the price goes up i guess you will be heading down Argos to give them some money then.
