Lucky they weren't gay and holding hands in Iran!

I'd like to think the police over here would act in the same way if a bunch of idiots were dancing on any memorials here

Get a room...or a jail cell.

no it wasnt sarcasm ! and why lmao?? thats the problem with people today they have little or no respect for others, for memorials, for gravestones, i could go on. i find the people in that video totally disrespectful

Do you know who Thomas Jefferson was?
He was one of the most adamant supporters of the first ammendmant.

There is a difference between dancing on somebodies grave, and dancing at a publically funded memorial!

yes i know who he was, at the end of the say its a memorial funded by the taxpayers, same as lots of other memorials that deserve the respect . it makes no difference whether its this memorial or the cenotaph in London , both deserve equal respect,

so you dont think the man accredited with the origins of the freedom of speech would approve of people celebrating free speech at his memorial?

Just go play some more pokemon cards

Second paragraph

On May 28 Adam and other activists were arrested seconds after they started silently dancing in what they say was a celebration of the first amendment's champion.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I have respect for others points of view, but only if their views are educated.

in the first 5 seconds of the video it talks about freedom of speech and as F&F said, in the article itself.

The point is, their constitution gives them the right to free speech and peaceful protest. Just because someone decided to change a law ( which is what the protest was about) cannot make it so, the constitution must always be upheld.

Dancing, to me at least - doesnt scream 'violent' and unpeaceful behaviour.
Maybe to you it does? Maybe if we dressed them up in yellow suits with ears and got them to sing this song you would approve?

yes, the violence and public disorder was just OTT, point made was that kissing or dancing is still an expression of freedom, I don't deny that the event was designed to test this, hence the program Adam Vs The Man. However, the police were very keen to physically split the couple up for kissing, kinda sad really, land of brave and home of the 'possibly' free.

lol pwned

thanks for that i missed that FAF but this wasnt a peaceful celebration was it , they set out to cause problems, you've only got to listen to the comments made by the guy with the hat at the end, why else would they have taken a camera crew with them?
Im sorry that some of the people posting on here think this is appropriate behaviour, thats its acceptable to cause a disturbance and have such little respect or thought for others, but i wasnt brought up to be this way
