Trying using a small plane (woodworking kind) or some sandpaper (obviously this will take a bit longer though).........or get Owlass to pop round with his tools :w00t:
try licking it
'its obviously swollen with the heat'

That's what she said
Thats unfortunate o_O

on the plus side it must mean that just outside your front door is the perfect sunbathing spot!

Tell the salesman to get his foot out of it..:-D
It won't be swollen if it's UPVC. It's probably dropped a little, try lifting the whole door at the handle as you shut it.
loosen all the screws and give it a wiggle upwards then tighten

tried that, its been getting tight for a while, opened it earlier and now cant shut it to, also had this 2 years ago when it was really hot
lumoruk;5378094

you can adjust the screws, last time i tried it i made the entire thing worse
That keeps happening to ours Sassie (were getting a new one fitted in a couple of weeks, cause it's driving me nuts). Have you tried spraying inbetween the frame and the door edge with WD40? We found that usually does the trick or at least makes the opening and closing alot easier  Good luck.

Theres ya cause! Sassie strikes again!
Our UPVC door does exactly the same sometimes. Leave it open for a while and it will cool down. We get the sun at the front of our house most of the afternoon, so the door swells.
how jammy am i, just been into back to shed for an alan key (or whatever there called) and next doors got bloke in replacing internal doors, hes sorted it for me :-)

no but any of the metal fittings can expand and cause alignment problems.
Upvc doors swell more than wooden ones.
Next time it happens hose it down with cold water (as long as there is no hosepipe ban ! !)

Thanks. Will give that a go. If I mess it up, I can blame you

Will do. We're are away during August and so am a little concerned about our friends not being able to close the door when they check on the house. Will probably tell them to check in the morning or late evening to be on safe side.

Are you sure that there isn't something caught in the door? Maybe it's locked?

Are you sure it's not a window?
