not sure that is very much in astrological terms

That's a baby, If that had hit most of it would of burned up in our atmosphere, Probably just about big enough to destroy a small city.

Certainly not a catastrophe, I'm sure one day the earth will again be hit by a massive comet/asteroid but most probably not in our life times.

No point worrying you could be hit by a bus tomorrow.

Got to think if it landed on your head you would be dead, or if it hit someone you loved how ****** would that be? better chance of winning the lottery but still.

yes your right - just puzzling that it got so little press.

If it had been in August ( slow news month) may have got days of headlines

Makes you wonder if they would bother letting us know if one was about to land on our heads just to avoid a panic :?

So..... obviously not your small city then????????????

Things fly past all the time. You'd probably be surprised how many actually get pulled in but get assimilated in orbit.

Ive always wanted to use assimilate in a real sentence. Aahhhhhh...

I wouldn't care, I'd be dead...!!!

this was showing on the large tv's in our local shopping mall. didn't think anything more of it.

Asimov wrote some really interesting stuff about statistical facts and comets/meteors/meteorites.

Dont let it worry you hon x

If the Asteroid was "estimated to be between 21 and 47 meters (68 and 152 feet) across" then that's about the same size as a Boeing 737 ( 33.4 m / 109 ft 7 in).

So probably do just a bit more damage than a plane crash would, Kind of puts it into perspective.

Are you the borg??

Don't worry to much about it hun. Space is filled with debris sure somethings gonna hit us one day but its not like we can do alot about it. I don't know about you but I know I ain't driving this planet

"The estimated size is similar to that of an asteroid or comet that exploded above Tunguska, Siberia, on June 30 1908, flattening 80 million trees in a swathe of more than 2,000 square kilometres (800 square miles)."

we get hit by a biggish one approx' every 100 years , one due soon

meteor crater in arizona was caused by a 20 metre rock

I've been trying to find that paper Asimov wrote on the statistical probability of an asteroid destroying the earth ( he basically concluded it wont happen ) but I cant find it anywhere so I can't provide more comfort...

I have to find it somewhere.. that writing was brilliant it mustnt go out of print.

where did ya last have it , you didn't sling it out with the recycling did ya :?

....might not destroy the earth , but a big one would kill 90% of living things

Oh no, only 10% of the deals we get now? Bad news, still might get one before they expire

i think if there was an earth threatening asteroid then the government wouldnt tell us about it. imagine all the looting and stuff, haha
