Audio Recording Software.

Can anyone recommend & perhaps provide a link to Audio Recording Software. Preferably Freeware.
I want to transfer some old audio tapes via a line in into mp3 format - I have tried Audacity and it was not very good - Have u tried something else and can highly recommend it ? REP GIVEN 4 the one I like best.

I use freecorder with firefox, really simple and easy to set up.

Records anything thats playing

Audacity would be my first choice, which aspect did you find wasn't very good?

I was getting poor sound quality( using xp ) - Tried the usual things like adjusting volume levels etc. but it was still no good.
