    AVG Update

If anyone is getting error messages with AVG this morning it is because there is a 3.6MB program update it is trying to download. Open up the program from the taskbar and try downloading manually. It will probably give you a failed connection message. You will have to try again later, as AVG is obviously under pressure with downloads (look at the download speed! :). Nothing wrong with you computer.

PS. Just managed to get AVG updated. If you press 'update' after each failed attempt you will eventually download all of it. It took me six tries. You may get a final error message after it installs, but ignore this, the program is just resetting itself.

Last time there was a problem people all over the world were reinstalling AVG because they thought the program had corrupted. Hopefully no one does this again

same thing happened with my NOD32 last month, took me about 100 attempts

Mine failed on Auto Update, it has just updated OK by using manual update at first attempt.

    Thanks - rep added.

Had a similar problem this morning. You need to uninstall (if it will let you) and start from scratch from here:

:thumbsup:I have used AVG for several years, then the upgrade to version 8 was so wick I decided to look around.
AVAST is also free but seems to have much more to it. Where AVG only gave free AntiVirus, Avast give a whole suite.

I have been using now for about 1 month and really pleased.
