depends on the quality of the .avi, but DVD's are cheap anyway.

Lots of good converters out there, but if you are using Nero you can transcode and burn most formats to DVD/SVCD or VCD.

For converter try total video converter or the freeware mediacoder

Neither. For the best in quality and the cheapest long-term, buy yourself a DVD player that can play AVI files. 'tis a good deal quicker to burn seven AVIs to a DVD, too.

    Totally agree with that.
Players that can do DivX werent that expensive, and hitting £20 or lower last time i checked. Even some decent brands started it.

Quality always degrades a bit when converting it back to a DVD, so i never do it.

right i got a player that plays divx
i put my avi file to dvd but it plays sound but no picture
however ****** tescos dvd plays it ok
how can i just get the dvd player to pay avi or div x then?
    thanks

oh didn't know c rappy was a swearword

You will have to find out which formats it can play and also what size and sound. then you may still have to convert them to this format to be able to play. If you still want to convert to dvd then ConvertXtoDvd is an excellent program.

try winavi video converter, i find this great and have tried many over time and have been usuing this programme for the past year, doesnt take long either.

Some DVD players that say they can play avi and DivX/Xvid files are a bit picky about how compliant the video files are (and sometimes even which program has been used to convert them to avi).

You might have to resort to converting them to DVD to use them on the DVD player that only plays the sound when avi files.

These are the programs I use to convert vidio files to DVD format, most of which have been mentioned above.

If you have Nero vision it will do it, if not there are others

WinAvi 7.7 or above available from torrents or Usenet

]Avi2DVD free but can be difficult to use, see the guide I have linked to.

]SVCD2DVD is paid for one I use, it was on offer at £1 but I don't know if it still is.

Note if you want chapters in your movies you will have to set them manually in Nero, the others have options to insert them at set time intervals.

Of these program Winavi is the easiest to use, once you have set your basic prefrences it is 1 click conversion

you could always get yourself a modded original xbox and just stream it direct from computer without having to convert anything...
