Bad HDD Sectors

Hi Peeps

Anyone recommend a good tool (free) to scan my HDD for bad sectors and repair them?

Search for hiren's boot disc (there's loads of places to download it), the use hdd regenerator or spinrite to repair the bad secstors.

It's all built-in to windows. Open the command program (Programs > Accessories).
Type: CHKDSK /F /V C:

If it asks the question "Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)
" press Y then enter.
Now close the Command Prompt (red X top right). Windows will check the disk the next time that Windows boots or restarts.
