BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN ( for beginners)

Here is a chicken recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as
a stuffing - imagine that! When I found this recipe, I thought it was
perfect for people like me who just aren't sure how to tell when poultry is
thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try.

    BAKED STUFFED CHICKEN
    6-7 lb. roasting chicken
    1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good.)
1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHERS LOW FAT)
    Salt/pepper to taste

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brush chicken well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with Stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
    Listen for the popping sounds.
When the chicken's ass blows the oven door open
and the chicken flies across the room, it's done.

    Does this really work?!

I hope it flies out onto a plate

    is this a serious recipe?

don't put stuffing inside a chicken - it takes longer to cook as the air cannot circulate properly. if in doubt as to whether your chicken is cooked properly, put a skewer (or cocktail stick) into the thickest part of the meat (try the big bit of the breast and the chunky part of the leg and thigh), take it out again and if the juices run clear, it's done. if they don't run clear (even if it's slightly pinkish), put the chicken back in for another 10-15 mins.

but i like the thought of the chicken exploding when cooked - saves time picking the carcass!

    No:-D

Probably wouldn't work with a bigger bird - so no use for Christmas dinner, for instance.:)

Another way to check if the meat is cooked enough:

Give the kids chicken for lunch. If they're not throwing up by tea time then it's safe to eat for tea:thumbsup:
