Battery for Panasonic MX8 camcorder?

Found 14th Mar 2006
Could someone please recommend some good battery retailers? I need an additional battery for my ageing (but still superb) Panasonic NV-MX8B camcorder.
I do not want to buy cheapo Hong Kong imports as LiIon batteries are known for their ability to explode and I do not want it to explode straight to my face.

I did some research on the web and found one company that seemed to be OK - battery-force.co.uk Battery Force . I am not sure how good (or bad) they are, so I am a bit cautious.
Did anyone actually purchased batteries from them? Or could someone recommend another reputable company? I prefer not to deal with those who do not provide their address or contact phon number. And prefer to deal with UK companies only (sorry Pixmania and such).

Based in bristol. I got a replacement battery for a Zen Micro from them for £13 or so as well as a battery for a Konica KD400z digital camera for about the same. Very good prices and service.

Based in Bristol; all contact details on the site.

Thanks for that! I looked at their website but they only have 1200mAh version. I'd rather prefer 2000mAh. Also, label on battery said that it is 7.4V and not 7.2V as stated in description. Go figure...

OK - sorry about that. As I said, I bought two batteries and both were identical to the originals and work great. Don't know much about the technicalities of such things :-(

So, I placed order for Energizer battery (2200mAh) with Battery Force. Crikey, what a service!
My order was placed yesterday and they kept me informed about its progress (by email). The package arrived today (I only paid for budget delivery, not the Next Day one) and inside was my battery, pack of free AA batteries (4 Alkaline batts) and a (wait for it!) small belgian chocolate, like the one you normally get in good restaurants when ordering Espresso. In addition they gave me personal code for 5% off for all my future purchases (there definitely would be some) and they also supplied Freepost sticker should I wish to return my purchases.

I am going to test the battery today but so far I am a very happy with Battery Force's service.

Thanks you two, this looks a good place to keep an eye on, with batteries for virtually anything and excellent service Nice!

Tried battery today (was filming school play) - 1.5 hours of filming with LCD and optical stabilizer on. Battery indicator is still showing 100% charge! Brilliant!
