    Battery Recycling at Curry's Digital.

Just found out that my local Curry's Digital in Richmond do battery recycling (there's a small box on the counter). My local council don't do battery recycling and nor does anywhere else I know of... so I guess Curry's is good for the environment (never thought I'd hear myself say that)

It's more to do with Retailers having to meet the WEEE directive.

You'll notice a lot of retailers disposing of electrical goods soon, especially after the 26th Sept I believe...

Tesco have a little box near the post box in some stores around here also my local post office accepts them too

Exactly, they are just getting established early so they can brag about some green credentials. Soon, if you sell it, you also have to accept disposals (batteries and electrical goods etc)
