BBC iplayer to Youtube advice please!

I am wondering whether anyone can help me please! My son was on Cbeebies and I desparately want to download the show from BBC iplayer on to YouTube before it expires. I imagine once it's on YouTube it will remain there plus I assume I can link it to Facebook!? Any help thankfully accepted!!

I would hazard a guess if you put up the whole program on youtube the BBC may have it taken down for copyright infringement. Use something like Ipdl to download the program on to your computer

    Hi MummyMoo,

You may be able to upload it to YouTube but it could get taken down for copyright.

Anyway, the most important thing you need to do first is get it saved on to your computer.
To do this you'll need a free program called "get_iplayer" which you can download here.

Although it's not really difficult to use, it can be a bit daunting as the program is controlled by typing instructions rather than clicking on buttons.

So have a go with get_iplayer but if you can't get the hang of it, send me a link to the TV programme your son was on from the BBC iPlayer site, I'll grab it for you and put it somewhere for you to download.

whenever I watch anything on iplayer it comes up underneath with the option to download rather than stream, can you not just choose this option and save it on your computer/laptop.

When you download from Iplayer it only lets you keep it for a limited amount of time then you lose it, at least thats how anything I have downloaded to watch on catch up later has worked, sorry.

Download from iplayer and then upload to wootly.com

download the program for starters, it runs out after a set period, but dont worry

now download tunebite, I think you might have to pay for it or tyou might get 30 days free

    convert it

    ALTERNATIVLY

record it using a mobile phone

    OR

play it on a ps3 if you have one by plugging it straight into a video/dvd recorder and record it.

Hi, I am having the same trouble. I was on a BBC that I have downloaded from Iplayer and saved the file to my computer.
I want to upload it to Youtube but it is too long.
I have tried to use video editors to cut the video but then it comes back so fuzzy you cannot see the picture. I have tried to convert to AVI file but the same thing happens.
Anyone who can help please email MOD EDIT: personal contact info removed
    Thank you

    Hi leestokoe

If the video file you have is an .mp4 file then you could try using Avidemux to trim your video down.
This will let you save your edited video in the original format without having to re-encode and loose quality.
(On the left-hand side of the software choose... Video: Copy, Audio: Copy, Format: MP4)

Avidemux is free and can be downloaded from here.

    Good luck!
