I had my nails done this evening and she comes to my house. She charges £20 for tips and £15 for the infill couple of weeks later

Manicure - £10
Luxury ie. french manicure £15
Pedicure prices same

I much prefer the mobile technician as like the comfort of it being done in my home, plus my sister in law and mum were here getting their nails done too.

Thanks hun, thats about spot on, as i wouldnt feel i was being ripped off with those prices... friend just paid 16quid for standard Pedicure which i thought was a little much for mobile price.

Best of luck with this btw. My nail technician is also training in loads of other things as there is a gap in the market in my area for things like this - i.e mobile therapists etc.

Good luck:thumbsup:

Thanks hun, my daughter and me in training atm for all the above ( its hectic ) im setting it up for her really, just left 6th form and no jobs about so im giving her a catapult...I will be helping her do it initially ( or if i like it to much a change of career may be on cards! LOL)
We got our tanning training Monday and doing diploma in Manicures & Pedicures etc
Its quite exciting choosing the name, stationary, outfits etc.. I just hope she takes the opportunity with both hands and runs with it, if not... i will have a business to run!

I think gel nails are just that - gel painted on - whereas acrylics are just that lol. I just get white tips put on and here its referred to as "pink and white" as once the white tips are on, they paint a very very natural pinky colour over it to seal it and looks great.

Pros of Acrylic Nails
•If you break an acrylic nail you can almost always fix it temporarily, and rather easily, yourself.
•The removal process is simple and straightforward if done by a professional. The nails can be soaked rather than filed off.
•Acrylics are very strong. When done correctly and with proper nail care, they can last a long time. They’re robust!
Pros of Gel Nails
•Gel nails often look more natural and glossy than other types of cosmetic nails.
•The curing time is faster than acrylics, sometimes clocking in at just two minutes when light-curing is done.
•Gel nail mixtures are odorless.
•There is less filing involved during the application process.
Cons of Acrylic Nails
•They can damage your real nails in a harsher manner than gel nails can.
•Acrylics can look less natural than gel nails, especially if done incorrectly.
•It can be hard to grow out acrylic nails.
Cons of Gel Nails
•They don’t last as long and are less durable than acrylic, even though they tend to cost more.
•Gel nails are harder to do yourself if you like to do home manicures.
•Nail polish may not stick to the gel finish as well as it does to an acrylic finish.
•If a gel nail breaks, you may be in for some trouble. It can sometimes be more of a shatter effect than a clean break, so self-fixing a break is not usually an option. You’ll need to make an appointment right away with your manicurist. Sometimes they do break cleanly; basic nail glue could be used in that case.
•Gel nails almost always need to be filed off. You can’t just soak them away

ermmm that really didnt help :?

i personally hate acrylics i think they really do damage your nails, but someone said gels are better for your nails, it is only a one off for falsies for my daughter, i want her to use stick ons, but shes pretty adamant she wants falsies, for one bloody night - grrrrrrrrrr

Mixed opinions... some say gels are not as harsh as arylics some say theres no difference.
Ive had both and i didnt notice one worse or better than the other.
I would actually say acrylics were more robust.
I like tips, french tips at that.

I go to my local college and pay really low prices for a decent service.

Hi pc

Not exactly my field (though a massage is always appreciated), but as a graphic designer I do produce many price lists for beauticians. Would it not vary between areas? (areas, not 'areas' lol)
