I want to do a beef curry for dinner tonight but all the recipes iv found have lots of spices in and i dont want to get them all and not use them again.

I want it with a kick but not burning. Have you got any you have tryed and want to pass the recipe on?

Just get a decent jar of sauce. Mumtaz come highly recommended.

Really into Byrianin type curries lately (much nicer than a plate full of dull rice)

If in a rush I just use Pataks curry pastes.

Chuck a load of onions in fry them in oil chuck in the meat brown it off, 2 desert spoons of paste cook it up a bit then add around 2 pints of chicken stock, boil it up then put the rice in, cook for 5 then turn off the heat cover a let it sit for another 5. my whole family love it even the kids who do not like spicy food. You can varying strength pastes to suit you own needs.

Never thought of using a paste before. having the rice cooked with the meat sounds good to.

You could always do a Thai curry - buy the spices fresh and there's no wastage...makes it a little more expensive buying fresh but worth it for the result. Put in red chills for a red curry, green chillis for a green curry - one finger (NOT birds-eye) chilli per person is about right for a decent kick.

use lloyd grossman ready sauce. the easiest most authentic and best curry from a jar. to make it better throw some fresh tomatoes and coriander in just before its cooked. these sauces are a quid in asda at the moment. a steal
