I've had this washing machine for about 6 weeks, its started making an irritating noise when the drum turns even by hand. It sounds as though your winding up a toy?

Called Beko to arrange repair to be told if its not a manufacturing fault im liable to a charge of upto £90, so just wondering if its something simple.

Before they arrive make sure you check the filter.

could be a screw or coin in the drum or the drum bearings have failed. Probably some loose item in the drum.

Well i drained the filter and found nothing then decided to put it on a fast drain and spin... seems to have sorted the problem. Just wonder what was causing it.

Maybe not sorted So try it again with a full load ;-)

You should have contacted whoever sold it to you first rather than Beko.

Also, if you check your manual, there should be a way of running diagnostics on it.

I have to agree with kester76

Most likely a coin or similar trapped behind drum - and it's currently found a good spot but the next time you get an uneven load that vibrates the drum it'll probably start up again

check that the transit bolts at the back of the machine have been removed.look in instruction manual. transit bars.these hold the drum in place during transit. stop it getting damaged and wobbling about when man handled. if there not removed on installation they can make a hell of a noise and damage the drum.

Nobody in the house has lost a wire from an under wired bra at all have they, they're notorious for getting caught in the drums
