I phoned around a few of the hotels I usually recommend to visitors, and they're booked already - do you need to be very central or can you go a bit outside of Belfast?

Won't have a car so central would really be ideal.

I really wouldn't bother its a sh*thole. I stayed there yesterday, and its the scariest, most ugly looking, rundown city I have ever stayed in. I was central in the Holiday Inn. Wouldn't go again. Travel to Larne instead, great place, go to Pinky Moons Diner its great

Larne is very rough, I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there!! I love Belfast though. while the Holiday Inn is fairly central, it's in the heart of student-land, so it's hardly in the nicest part of Belfast.

Been to belfast a couple of times and have enjoyed it. Still can't find a hotel. Anyone know of any decent B&Bs?

Have a look at these, any good? Its getting harder to get a hotel in Belfast, tourism is great at the moment and Dec is busy with Christmas parties etc.

Also have a look at www.gotobelfast.com

They have a list of recomended accommodation too. Give the tourist office a ring as they might have some cancellations.

You should work for the Iraq Tourist Board. Please don't take this eejit's opinion seriously. We are renowned for being really nice people and the Guinness is great.

Perfect word !!!:giggle:

I have phoned round loads of hotels and they all seem to be booked on the 15th! I started off with the low budget ones, and then carried on with the more expensive ones just out of curiosity, and can't find you anything at all, sorry!

I'm with Jaime, phone the tourist board. If you are willing to travel outside Belfast, I can recommend Dobbin's Hotel, Carrickfergus - you can get a train to Belfast from there in about 20 minutes, costs about £2ish. They are a traditional hotel, not modern luxury but I've never heard any complaints. £72 per double room per night, including breakfast (breakfast is nice there, good value) but you'll need to be quick as they are booking up quickly. dobbinsinnhotel.co.uk/ind…tml

Theres also a new Premier Travel Inn in Carrickfergus, with availability, £96 for the 2 rooms.

It would be around £15 for a taxi home that evening. Plenty of trains and buses.

Loads of buses, I think the Premier is a little far from the train station though I may be wrong. Hell if you're stuck I'll give you a lift back lol

Thanks everyone. Don't worry mrtootough, I stay in Stranraer so I meet plenty of people from belfast and I actually worked on the Stena HSS for 2 years.

Last trip I stayed in the Jury and one before that was Days, both are full though. :-(

Although that said, might need to change our shopping trip to Edinburgh, seems to be plenty of hotels there still avaliable.

Is just up the M2 about 10 mins in car from town. Just recently refurbished. Looks like they have availability.

Corrs Corner is lovely to eat in, I've never stayed there though. Only drawback would be it's in the middle of nowhere, so there's nothing to do, or look at, apart from roads in ever direction
