Interesting that the majority of the worst are up north and the majority of the best are down south.......mmmmmm

Proud northerner here who likes her home town regardless of others opinions!:p

I love where I am - wouldnt swap it for anything.

Went to London 2 years ago. Loved the city but was clearing the dirt out of the nose for days!

Strangely the worst place for dust pollution is the underground.......not heavy street traffic.

About 10 years ago, I took part in an experiment where I had to carry a particulate air pollution monitor everywhere for 2 weeks. I used to commute by motorbike through heavy London traffic, others cycled or used train or underground. Those using the underground were exposed to the highest levels of particulate pollution.

Without looking, that's Horsham isn't it? Heard it on Southern FM this morning. That's Horsham who were second last year and are now 9th.

I'm claiming to be from Mid Sussex so that makes me 16th best!

10th worst for me also.

What makes me laugh is that in the worst list they showed the worst places they could and totally ignored the good parts of the area.

However in the best list they showed the most desirable parts and none of the scruffy places in that area.

Every place has it's bad and good, it's just a shame Channel 4 never had the decency to show the flip side of the coin.

I'm in the best place. Who wants to touch me?

Ah but they did, they provided a soapbox from which those highly articulate people from Middlesbrough defended their town, had my opinion well and truly switched.

Not sure about touching you, but I'll give you a tenner if you find my Canon Digital Camera, lost somewhere around the Gilded Balloon about 4am in mid-August. Cheers.

We did spend loads of time on and off the underground. Not having a pop at the city - just thought I felt 'dirty'.

Oh and the water tastes disgusting!!!:-(

Can't help you there, probably got nicked by one of the Knowsley residents in the audience. They're a right dodgy lot, I've read.

Weh heh! I live in the 8th best area LOL
To think that Chelmsford used to be labeled as the most boring place in the country! How things change. Charles Dickens would be rather pleased methinks.
